We are proud to announce represents Los Angeles commercial director Bo Barrett. Bo came to directing from the other side of the lens. He spent years as an actor in hundreds of commercials and learned the craft on sets run by directors like Sofia Coppola, Lance Acord and Tom Kuntz. As a director, that background shows up in his casting, which tends toward real people over polished performers, and in the room he gives talent to find the moment themselves. His commercial work includes spots for Expedia, Rocket Mortgage, 7-Eleven, Eggo, CarMax, Uncommon Goods and Everytown for Gun Safety.
The range is what brought him to Unrivaled. Bo can direct a comedy built on a dozen distinct kinds of dumb, as he did for Uncommon Goods, and he can shoot most of an Everytown campaign himself so the kids on camera feel safe enough to open up. For 7-Eleven, he set up real blind dates between real singles. For Eggo, he opened casting to any gender and turned a boy’s morning-routine board into “Cowgirl.” In every case the spot feels lived-in rather than manufactured, and that’s what agencies and brands can expect from him. Bo’s full reel and project breakdowns are now live on his Unrivaled director page.
