Jonathan Hanson Shoots MLB Apparel For Fanatics

Three friends wearing baseball jerseys laugh together at a bar table. One woman holds a drink with a lime slice. A billiards table and musical murals are visible in the warmly lit background. Three people wearing Baltimore Orioles jerseys and jeans smile and walk together in a stadium, with an Orioles logo and “Orioles Magic” sign in the background. A group of young adults in Orioles gear smile and relax in stadium seats during a baseball game. Two people in the front row pose happily together, while others chat and hold drinks in the background. Four young adults wearing Baltimore Orioles gear smile and pose for a selfie outside a stadium, with brick buildings, lights, and other fans in the background.

For photographer/director Jonathan Hanson, his recent collaboration with Fanatics, the focus was clear: capture the raw, unfiltered energy of game day. The project wasn’t about perfect poses or staged moments, it was about real fans, real connections, and the genuine emotions that make sports culture so powerful.

The photography leaned into authentic storytelling, documenting a real group of friends as they head to a Baltimore Orioles game. By prioritizing candid over contrived, we built a visual narrative that honors what it truly feels like to be a fan. Casting played a huge role in shaping that authenticity. Instead of seeking perfection, the emphasis was on connection and relatability, people whose charisma and natural energy could carry the story without artifice.

This project was ultimately about community. Whether it was a high-five between strangers, a family rallying around their team, or a group of friends caught up in the drama of the game, every shot spotlighted the shared experiences that bind fans together.
