Grace VanderWaal, known for her unique vocals and mastery of the Fender ukulele, joined forces with Fender and Music & Arts for a striking winter catalog campaign that was photographed by New York celebrity and advertising photographer, Jonathan Hanson. The collaboration is a seamless blend of artistry and brand identity, bringing together an iconic instrument maker, a premier U.S. music retailer, and a young musical prodigy. Jonathan who is celebrated for his dynamic edge in music photography, was commissioned to craft a series of portraits in a single day at a location in Brooklyn, NY. His mission: to spotlight VanderWaal and her instrument through a compelling visual language that feels both intimate and editorial.
The imagery captures Grace’s effortless charisma and spirit across multiple sets that they created in on location. They created photos of her reclining with her ukulele or posing against minimalist backdrops, with each frame brining her youthful energy.
