When choosing a creative production company, it’s important to find a partner whose strengths align with your project goals. Review their portfolio to see if they have relevant industry experience and a distinctive creative vision that matches your brand. Consider whether they offer full-service production, concept development, casting, shooting, and post-production, or specialize in specific areas of branded content and video production. Make sure their services fit within your budget and that their process is transparent, collaborative, and efficient. A reputable production company will have strong client testimonials, repeat partnerships, and a proven ability to deliver high-quality work. Just as important is chemistry: since production involves long days and close collaboration, it’s essential to work with a team you trust and enjoy. Ultimately, the right creative production company combines creative excellence, practical capabilities, and cultural fit to bring your vision to life.

How early should we bring you into a project?

Since Unrivaled is a production company and works on the last stage of a creative project, we like to start as early as possible. After years of working in production both direct to brand and with agencies, we believe that production partners are the key to successful campaigns because of their unique position in the creative ecosystem. It’s one that gives us an unmatched perspective on how projects actually unfold. We intimately understand the realistic pace of creative work, having witnessed countless projects from conception to completion. Through constant client interaction, we have developed a nuanced understanding of communication patterns and stakeholder needs. This hands-on experience helps anticipate potential roadblocks and develop solutions before they become issues. Years of observing project patterns across different types of work make us especially adept at identifying what works and what doesn’t. This comprehensive view makes us invaluable in creating realistic, achievable project scopes that set both teams and clients up for success.

What styles or types of video do you specialize in?

Unrivaled creative productions specialize in producing high-quality marketing and advertising photography and video content designed for any platform—from broadcast commercials to social campaigns and branded digital content. Our work spans fashion, workwear apparel, sports, outdoor apparelautomotive, lifestyle, healthcare, and education. No matter the style, whether cinematic storytelling, documentary-style brand films, product-focused spots, or dynamic social-first content, we adapt our creative approach to deliver authentic, impactful visuals on time and on budget.

Do you offer full-service production, or just shooting/editing?

As a full service creative production company, Unrivaled offers both full-service production and stand-alone shooting or editing, depending on the needs of your project. Our roster of award-winning photographers and directors gives us the flexibility to scale from concept development and pre-production through post-production, or to step in for specific production services. We regularly produce work across a range of genres and industries, including fashion and apparel campaigns, sports and fitness storytelling, automotive commercials, lifestyle and travel content, healthcare and pharma as well as education marketing. Whether you need end-to-end production or expert shooting and editing, we tailor our approach to deliver high-impact visuals that connect with your audience.

Can you manage both creative development and execution?

Yes, Unrivaled has in house creative direction in addition to established producers. These two services go hand in hand. Our directors and photographers also contribute meaningfully to projects because of their deep subject matter knowledge and authenticity in brand storytelling.

How long does it take to produce a video or campaign?

The production time is directly related to how complicated the shoot is and the budget. Larger, more complex shoots can take longer to make. We can work on tight turn arounds and have completed full service productions including post and CGI in as little as a month. In collaboration with agency, Notorious111 and Big Ass Fans, we produced this fun campaign featuring a hilarious talking donkey named, Fanny, in a campaign titled, “No Sweat. All Chill.” Michael Fagan directed two spots while Jonathan Hanson shot stills. Each video was created for a key customer, residential and industrial and completed in a month.

Do you source directors, photographers, stylists, and crew?

Yes, Unrivaled has a comprehensive roster of artists that include directors and photographers on our website as well as a deep database for crew like dp’s and stylists among many others. Over our long career, we have worked with and vetted top talent across the U.S.

What factors influence production costs? (crew size, shoot days, post-production)

All of the above! Our producers at Unrivaled believe that there are several key things that can influence production costs. First and foremost is the creative concept. Some ideas are more complicated and expensive to make while others are not. On screen talent is another area that can add big costs to your production. Scripts or photo shoots that require a big cast, celebrities and or speaking roles all drive up costs as does the usage licensee being assigned to the project. Usage can range from regional to National, with the cost growing as more areas and length of time are added. Other things like locations, number of days and final deliverables also influence how expensive the production will be.

What’s included in your estimate or bid?

When the producers at Unrivaled estimate a creative production, we create a line itemed estimate and develop a project plan that includes a timeline, director or photographer recommendations from our deep roster of artists. We’ll include a treatment that lays out their vision for the project, creating a comprehensive proposal of how we’ll make your creative come to life.

Their partnership, creativity and resourcefulness is second to none.” And Jared Hager from New Balance/Warrior Sports said, “They deliver incredibly creative solutions but also think outside the box, which is important to us as we are always looking to find new ways to reach our target consumer outside of traditional media. They have always gone above-and-beyond to deliver the best results, diving deeper into market research than other agencies we’ve worked with. We have worked through several projects with them, all delivering incredible results on social media.”

What budget ranges do you work with?

As a commercial production company Unrivaled works with clients across a wide range of budgets, depending on the scope and creative approach of each project. What questions should I ask a production company before hiring them?

We believe that before hiring a commercial production company, it’s important to ask the right questions to ensure they’re the right fit for your project. Start by asking about their experience in your industry and about the work they’ve produced. Review their portfolio and ask them to walk you through the creative process—from pre-production and casting to on-set execution and post-production. Be clear about budget and timelines, and ask how they handle revisions, communication, and problem-solving when challenges arise. It’s also smart to ask about their full range of production services, preferred crew, and whether they offer in-house creative development or rely on outside partners. Finally, ask for client references or examples of repeat collaborations, as these show reliability and trust. The right creative production company will answer transparently, demonstrate proven expertise, and show how they can bring your brand’s vision to life.

Do you have any press mentions?

Unrivaled as a business and our individual founders have both had notable mentions in the press, including awards. Our project with Big Ass Fans and Nortorious111 received coverage in Adage with notable founder profiles in Muse by Clio’s on Brian Schneider when he was CEO at a previous agency as well as a feature on the collaboration between Crocs and Team USA swimmer, Lilly King co-founder, Jonathan Hanson led. Hanson also had a column in Adweek, covering thought leadership on marketing and sustainability. He is not currently writing this column, but continues to produce thought leadership on production, published on Unrivaled’s news section of their website regularly. Recent writings include the importance of input from producers when scoping and insights from the Noco Producers Report. Hanson has mentored and offered free portfolio reviews to support young creative talent as well as published articles on what photographers and directors can do to grow as a professional artist.
