Style Driven Storytelling
The Mascot
Jonathan Hanson directs a coming-of-age spot about a kid who wants one thing: to be the Mustang. The idea hits him on the walk out of a high school football game, and his parents respond the way good parents do, by telling him it’ll take real work. He takes that literally. Supplies get ordered that night, and by the next day the house is stocked with fitness gear, groceries, and protein shakes. The training montage that follows (weights, dance moves, a routine run until it’s right) plays his seriousness straight, and that’s where the humor comes from. At the next game, the car door opens and the Mustang steps out, with mom and dad right behind him.

Crocs x Jared McCain
Duke basketball standout Jared McCain fronts this social-first spot for the Crocs Mellow Collection, co-written and directed by Jonathan Hanson with the brand’s in-house team. Crocs signed McCain as an NIL ambassador to reach college sports fans outside its usual audience. Hanson built the piece around McCain’s own personality and online presence, so it plays like something from his feed rather than a brand spot. Basketball workouts set up the payoff: the Mellow slides as the first thing on once the work is done. Unrivaled produced the shoot in Los Angeles.

Crocs x Suni Lee
For Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee, Jonathan Hanson co-directed and co-wrote a social-first piece introducing the Crocs Mellow Collection, working with Crocs’ internal creative team. Crocs brought Lee on as one of its NIL ambassadors, and Hanson’s approach was to meet her audience where they already follow her. The spot takes its cues from her interests and the way she shows up online. The demands of elite gymnastics training give way to real rest, and the slides’ sink-in comfort does the selling. Unrivaled handled production.

Porter-Cable
Jonathan Hanson directed PORTER-CABLE’s brand anthem for the tool maker’s retail partnership with Tractor Supply Co. The project was another collaboration with longtime Unrivaled partner MGH, the Baltimore agency. The job was to introduce the Stanley Black & Decker brand to Tractor Supply’s customers and give them a reason to shop for PORTER-CABLE tools in its aisles. Hanson shot motion and stills together, and Unrivaled handled production through post, including editorial, color and music licensing. The anthem was cut into several versions, each tailored to one brand’s channels and audience. The shoot also produced a deep library of footage and photography for PORTER-CABLE’s website, social and paid media.
